Jack is less than happy when his family moves to Curtly Ambrose. It's a very dull, suburban town where nothing of note ever happens - but things get magical when he finds a feather in his book!

It turns out that this is no ordinary feather... It's a magical feather and whatever Jack draws quickly comes to life. Jack quickly makes some grand plans and starts drawing a dog, a car and a wrestling mask but he's surprised when he ends up with frilly knickers, a pet sea lion who requires high maintenance and on the run from the dastardly mayor...

Jack's also having to deal with Coco, the girl next door who is oh-so annoying... He realises he's going to have to get better at drawing before disaster strikes again. The duo also end up playing in a summer blizzard and taking part in the local cake-off - with hilarious consequences!
